Der Pianist José Azar wurde in Tucumán, Argentinien, geboren. In der Nationaluniversität von seiner Heimat beendete er die Precollege musikalische Ausbildung mit den höchsten Qualifikationen.
Danach setzt er sein Studium an der Nationaluniversität der Künste „UNA“ in Buenos Aires fort, wo er den Studiengang Bachelor Klavier mit der akademischen Auszeichnung „Summa cum laude” absolvierte.
Regelmässig trat er auf wichtigen Bühnen von seinem Heimatland als Solist, Kammermusik Partner und Solist mit Orchester auf.
Im 2017 beschloss José Azar seine Weiterbildung in Deutschland fortzuführen. Auf diese Weise wurde er an der Klasse von Prof. Michael Uhde an der Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe angenommen, wo er zwei Masterstudiengänge „mit Auszeichnung“ absolvierte: 2019 den Master im Hauptfach Klavier und 2021 den Masterstudiengang Klavier-Kammermusik.
Während seines Studiums in Deutschland wurde er mit Stipendien des Freundeskreises der Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe, der Brahms Gesellschaft Baden-Baden und des Nationalen Kunstfonds von Argentinien (FNA) gefördert.
Meisterkurse in Argentinien, Brasilien, Deutschland und Israel bei renommierten Künstlern wie Stefan Arnold, Ricardo Castro, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Emanuel Krasovsky, Peter Lang, Gilead Mishory, Alfredo Perl, Carmen Piazzini, Fany Solter, u. a. ergänzen seine Ausbildung.
Er kann auf mehreren erfolgreiche Wettbewerbe zurückblicken, so gewann er u.a. den 1. Preis des Nationalen Klavierwettbewerbs „Fundación Catedral” (La Plata, Argentinien), den 1. Preis des „Adalberto Tortorella” Klavierwettbewerbs und den 1. Preis des „Música en Plural” Nationalen Kammermusik Wettbewerbs (Buenos Aires, Argentinien).
Neben seiner künstlerischen Tätigkeit hat José Azar schon fast 15 Jahre Erfahrung als Lehrer und Pädagoge gewonnen. Während dieser Zeit hatte er die Gelegenheit mit SchülerInnen und Studierenden aller Niveaus und Altersgruppen zu arbeiten, sowohl als Klavierlehrer als auch im Bereich Musiktheorie und als Korrepetitor. In seinem Heimatland, neben seiner Arbeit als privater Klavierlehrer, war er an der Nationaluniversität der Künste (UNA) als Lehrassistent für Klavier und Kontrapunkt und am Buenos Aires Konservatorium als Korrepetitor tätig. In Deutschland arbeitete er als Klavierlehrer an der Musikschule der Verbandsgemeinde in Wachenheim (Pfalz) und als privater Klavierlehrer.
Im 2021 bestand er die Aufnahmeprüfung für den Masterstudiengang Musikpädagogik an der Zürcher Hochschule der Künste (ZHdK) und wurde an der Klasse von Prof. Eckart Heiligers angenommen.
Ab 15. September 2021 unterrichtet José Azar in der YAMAHA Music School Zürich.
The pianist José Azar was born in Tucumán, Argentina. He graduated from the National University of his native country with the highest qualifications in precollege music and continued his studies at the National University of the Arts "UNA" in Buenos Aires, where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in piano with the academic distinction "Summa cum laude".
He regularly performed on important stages in his home country as soloist, chamber music partner and soloist with orchestra.
In 2017, José Azar decided to continue his training in Germany. In this way, he was accepted in the class of Prof. Michael Uhde at the Karlsruhe University of Music, where he completed two master's degrees "with distinction": the master's degree in the main subject piano in 2019 and the master's degree in piano chamber music in 2021.
During his studies in Germany, he was supported by scholarships from the Friends of the Karlsruhe University of Music, the Brahms Society Baden-Baden and the National Arts Fund of Argentina (FNA). Master classes in Argentina, Brazil, Germany and Israel with renowned artists such as Stefan Arnold, Ricardo Castro, Aquiles Delle Vigne, Emanuel Krasovsky, Peter Lang, Gilead Mishory, Alfredo Perl, Carmen Piazzini, Fany Solter, and others complete his education.
He can look back on several successful competitions, including 1st prize at the "Fundación Catedral" National Piano Competition (La Plata, Argentina), 1st prize at the "Adalberto Tortorella" Piano Competition and 1st prize at the "Música en Plural" National Chamber Music Competition (Buenos Aires, Argentina).
In addition to his artistic activity, José Azar has already gained almost 15 years of experience as a teacher and pedagogue. During this time he has had the opportunity to work with students of all levels and ages, both as a piano teacher and in the field of music theory and as a repetiteur. In his home country, in addition to his work as a private piano teacher, he worked at the National University of the Arts (UNA) as a teaching assistant for piano and counterpoint and at the Buenos Aires Conservatory as a repetiteur. In Germany he worked as a piano teacher at the music school of the Verbandsgemeinde in Wachenheim (Palatinate) and as a private piano teacher.
In 2021 he passed the entrance examination for the Master's programme in Music Education at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) and was accepted in the class of Prof. Eckart Heiligers.
From 15 September 2021 José Azar will be teaching at the YAMAHA Music School Zurich.
